By customer demand we have just released the "Extended Service Version" of our original and popular IFS #7400 Kit. The extended service version, #7410, provides longer interval of element change for those customers putting extended annual mileage on their HUEI system.
The element bowl and element is 4" longer and requires additional drop down room for element change clearance. The #7410 provides more element projected area to capture any debris generated by the engine or the HEUI pump. You should expect 25,000 additional miles to your change frequency when installing the #7410 "Extended Service" model.
How do I know which model to order?
Easy answer. IF you put 20,000 miles or less annually on your engine then the original #7400 Kit would be your choice. If you put greater than 20,000 miles on your engine, more commercial truck than RV, then the Extended Version, #7410, may be the better choice.
How many miles should I expect from either IFS element?
That is somewhat of a trick question. Depending on your engine oil and engine oil filter change frequency directly relates to the IFS change frequency change requirement. Here is an example that may give you better understanding with the provisions of using a high quality oil and an engine filter rated for 6 micron or better and 10,000 mile engine oil/filter change frequency:
IFS #7400 Kit: 50,000 miles
IFS #7410 Kit: 75,000 miles
Can I update from a standard version #7400 to the new extended version #7410?
Absolutely you can. We will provide a conversion kit #7495 that includes 1- The Extended Service bowl and 2- The Extended Service Element.
What is the Cost to Upgrade?
The #7495 Upgrade Kit cost is $175.00 plus shipping.
